Mom had an follow-up appointment with her oncologist today which was good timing. She’s been feeling sick for some time now, and so far she’s lost 30 pounds since the diagnosis. I suppose it’s easy to lose weight if nothing you eat tastes good or makes you feel bad. The doctor figures it’s the Nexevar (her liver meds). So what does the doc do? Ups the dosage. It was time to do that any way, but it’s ironic to me that the meds make her sick but she has to take twice the amount as before.
That in mind, she’s had some pain in her side again…and Mom figures it’s her liver. The doctor wanted to do a CAT scan but decided they’d wait 2-weeks when she’s due for one (post radiation). With all the discomfort she’s still retained that sick sense of humor. I can’t wait to go home and spend time with her…though I figure I’ll be driving her nuts before too long. =-P
